The Veteran Samajwadi Party leader and 6 time MLA Mr Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai was Born in Masauli town of Barabanki district on 18th July 1944 in a Zamindar family. Mr Kidwai has been a Minister in the Samajwadi Party Government and has handled some of the key portfolios like Planning, Technical Education, Forest, Sports, etc. Father of Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai, Mr Mahfooz Ahmad Kidwai was a freedom fighter who later on became an MLC. Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai’s uncle, the legendary Mr Rafi Ahmad Kidwai is a well-known freedom fighter and was a Cabinet Minister in the first cabinet of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.

श्री फरीद महफूज किदवई छह बार विधायक चुने जा चुके हैं। रामनगर से 3 बार, मसौली से 2 बार और उत्तर प्रदेश की कुर्सी विधानसभा सीट से 1 बार विधायक रह चुके हैं। 2012 में कुर्सी निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से जीतने के बाद उन्हें श्री अखिलेश यादव की सरकार में मंत्री के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था और तकनीकी शिक्षा, वन, खेल और योजना जैसे महत्वपूर्ण विभागों को सफलतापूर्वक संभाला था। फरीद महफूज किदवई ने अपनी विधायक निधि का उपयोग करके स्ट्रीट लाइट, सोलर लाइट, सड़कों की मरम्मत और निर्माण, जलजमाव की समस्या से निपटने के लिए जल निकासी व्यवस्था में सुधार के लिए अपने राम नगर निर्वाचन क्षेत्र को अपग्रेड करना शुरू कर दिया है। उन्होंने अपने निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के निवासियों के लिए हैंड-पंप और बिजली के ट्रांसफार्मर आदि की स्थापना की भी व्यवस्था की है।

Early Life and Career

After completing his M.Sc in Geology from Aligarh Muslim University in the year 1966 Mr Kidwai moved to Lucknow and joined Industrial Toxicology Research Centre (ITRC) to do his research work, he later took a job in Sahu Jains as a Geologist in lime-stone queries.... However, shortly after that he resigned from his job to finally return to his hometown Masauli to take care of his family farming work. His uncle Mr Mustafa Kamil Kidwai who was an ambassador in Saudi Arabia, returned to Masauli after his retirement and contested and won the election as an independent MLA candidate. The young Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai who was the chief election in-charge for his uncles campaign for the first time during campaigning work saw and understood the problems of the poor living in the rural areas. He felt a lot could be done to better the lives of the poor and the marginalized sections in our society if they get someone to raise their voice and work for them which eventually persuaded him to enter politics. Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai followed the footsteps of his uncle and decided to enter politics. He used to Idolise Mr Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, so he joined CFD ( Congress for Democracy ) which Mr Bahuguna & Mr Jagjivan Ram had jointly formed. Later on when Lok Dal was formed Mr Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai contested from the party symbol from Ramnagar Constituency in the year 1985 and won the election which started his political journey He has been a six time MLA, 3 times from Ram Nagar, 2 times from Masauli and 1 time from Kursi assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh.In 1996 during the BSP Government he was appointed Chairman of small scale industries with the rank of a minister. In 2012 after winning from Kursi Constituency he was appointed as a Minister in the Government of Mr Akhilesh Yadav and was handling important portfolios like technical education, forest, sports & planning.

कद्दावर और वरिष्ठ समाजवादी पार्टी के नेता और 6 बार के विधायक श्री फरीद महफूज किदवई का जन्म 18 जुलाई 1944 को बाराबंकी जिले के मसौली में एक जमींदार परिवार में हुआ था। श्री किदवई समाजवादी पार्टी सरकार में मंत्री रह चुके हैं और उन्होंने योजना, तकनीकी शिक्षा, वन, खेल आदि जैसे कुछ प्रमुख विभागों की कमान सफलतापूर्वक संभाली है। फरीद महफूज किदवई के पिता, श्री महफूज अहमद किदवई, एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे, जो आगे चल कर एमएलसी भी बने। फरीद महफूज किदवई के चाचा, श्री रफी अहमद किदवई एक प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे और पंडित जवाहर लाल नेहरू की पहली कैबिनेट में कैबिनेट मंत्री भी थे।


शुरुआती ज़िंदगी और राजनीति

वर्ष 1966 में अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय से भूविज्ञान में एमएससी पूरा करने के बाद, श्री किदवई लखनऊ चले गए और अपना शोध कार्य करने के लिए औद्योगिक विष विज्ञान अनुसंधान केंद्र (आईटीआरसी) में शामिल हो गए, बाद में उन्होंने साहू जैन में भूविज्ञानी के रूप में नौकरी भी करी।... हालांकि, इसके कुछ समय बाद ही उन्होंने अपनी नौकरी से इस्तीफा दे दिया और अंततः अपने परिवार के खेती के काम की देखभाल करने के लिए अपने गृहनगर मसौली लौट आए। उनके चाचा श्री मुस्तफा कामिल किदवई, जो सऊदी अरब में एक राजदूत थे, अपनी सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद मसौली लौट आए और उन्होंने एक निर्दलीय विधायक उम्मीदवार के रूप में चुनाव लड़ा और चुनाव जीता। युवा फरीद महफूज किदवई, जो अपने चाचा के चुनाव प्रचार प्रभारी थे, उन्होंने पहले बार ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले गरीबों की समस्याओं को देखा और समझा। उन्होंने महसूस किया कि हमारे समाज में गरीबों और पिछड़ों के जीवन को बेहतर बनाने के लिए बहुत कुछ किया जा सकता है यदि वे किसी को अपनी आवाज उठाने और उनके लिए काम करने के लिए कहें, इसके बाद उन्होंने फैसला किया कि वो राजनीती में आएंगे और गरीबों तथा पिछड़ों, वंचितों के उत्थान के लिए काम करेंगे। फरीद महफूज किदवई ने अपने चाचा के नक्शेकदम पर चलते हुए राजनीति में प्रवेश किया। वह श्री हेमवती नंदन बहुगुणा को अपना आदर्श मानते थे, इसलिए वे सीएफडी (लोकतंत्र के लिए कांग्रेस) में शामिल हो गए, जिसे श्री बहुगुणा और श्री जगजीवन राम ने संयुक्त रूप से बनाया था। बाद में जब लोक दल का गठन हुआ तो श्री फरीद महफूज किदवई ने वर्ष 1985 में रामनगर निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से लोकदल पार्टी के चिन्ह से चुनाव लड़ा और चुनाव जीता जिससे उनकी राजनीतिक यात्रा शुरू हुई। वह छह बार विधायक चुने जा चुके हैं। रामनगर से 3 बार, मसौली से 2 बार और उत्तर प्रदेश की कुर्सी विधानसभा सीट से 1 बार विधायक रह चुके हैं। 2012 में कुर्सी निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से जीतने के बाद उन्हें श्री अखिलेश यादव की सरकार में मंत्री के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था और तकनीकी शिक्षा, वन, खेल और योजना जैसे महत्वपूर्ण विभागों को सफलतापूर्वक संभाला था।

Issues of (267) Ramnagar Vidhansabha

Ramnagar assembly seat often witnesses flood like situation due to Ghagra River overflowing during the monsoons. Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai feels that flood and water logging situations along with the soil degradation due to flooding are of prime concern.

Work in Progress

Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai has started upgrading his Ram Nagar constituency by utilising his MLA LAD funds for installation of Street Lights, Solar lights, Repair & Construction of Roads, improving the drainage system to tackle water logging problem. He has also made arrangements for the installation of Hand-Pumps and Electrical Power Transformer for the residents of his Constituency.

Yoga & Nature lover

Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai has been a regular at his morning Yoga sessions before going on his routine constituency visits, meeting people and resolving their issues. The six term MLA feels that Yoga is one thing everyone must adopt to make their day full of energy. He is also fond of spending some time in leisure in the laps of nature whenever he gets some time off and is quite fond of wildlife and nature.

Driving Mantra!

His driving Mantra ? Fareed Mahfooz Kidwai hates the word ‘retirement’ and says there is no such word in his dictionary. “I will not retire as long as I am alive ” says the six time MLA who is always full of energy and ever ready to offer help to any one in trouble. He feels that there is a sense of satisfaction within him when he is able to help someone and get their issues resolved.
